Research on Soft Flutter of 420m-Span Pedestrian Suspension Bridge and Its Aerodynamic Measures

In order to study the flutter of long-span pedestrian suspension bridge and its aerodynamic control, a 420m-span is used as an engineering example, wind-induced vibration seven particular sections studied by wind tunnel tests, soft phenomenon two kinds identified. The results show that fairing wind-retaining plate measures are not necessarily effective improve stability bridge, these may reduce stability: section in positive angle attack prone torsion-based phenomenon, which vertical spectrum contains multiple frequencies, so conventional formulation linearized self-excited forces no longer satisfied; negative dominated vibration, beat found torsional time history section. Slotting center girder can significantly change flow state section, measure bridge.
